Four Things China as I Wander Around SIngapore

Four things China as I wander around Singapore and keep seeing different, smart, Chinese-made EV's...

1. Before COVID, I had dinner with the top guy from INSEAD as he returned from six months in China. I asked him what the scariest thing he saw was. His answer was how great China is at orchestrating and driving the scaling of innovation

2. China's preference for above-the-model leadership in the LLM / AI world may turn out to have a massively bigger impact. Especially if you think Edge Compute can become important. Along those lines, note that China's 5G footprint is significantly bigger than the US, with 1200% more edge compute capacity/base stations. Almost a billion subscribers and huge infrastructure spend are still in their plans.

3. Real and somewhat scary above the model penetration...including healthcare. See the article here.

4. China's urban efficiency on the back of smarter, deeper, and broader , AI intensive, low latency, software defined, compute-included networks will be significant. They are also intentionally architecting the low altitude economy and massive EV/Power efficiencies.

We may see the rest of the world playing smart city and power ecosystem catch-up.

They are already way ahead on road and rail.
